Patrol Officer (Full-time)
The Bridgeport Borough Police Department is accepting applications for full-time police officers who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be 21 years of age by the date of the application deadline
  • No record of conviction of any felony or violent crime
  • Pass a background investigation including checks of references and credit history
  • Must be physically, medically, and psychologically fit to perform the essential duties of the job
  • Possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • Have successfully completed a certified police academy and have obtained ACT 120 certification based upon the standards set forth by MPOETC; this includes having successfully completed the certification examination

Applications must be picked up at the Bridgeport Borough Police Department, 65 W. 4th Street, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Deadline for submitting completed applications is Friday, May 8th, 2026, at 4:00 PM

The Bridgeport Borough Police Department and the Bridgeport Borough Civil Service Commission are holding the written and physical fitness examinations for the full-time police officer process at the Upper Merion Middle School, 265 Crossfield Road, Cafeteria on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, at 8:00 AM. All candidates who have successfully applied and submitted their full-time applications are invited to attend.

For successful applicants, Interview Boards will be scheduled.

Patrol Officer (Part-time)
The Bridgeport Borough Police Department is looking for Act 120 certified candidates for part-time employment. You must possess a HS degree or certificate, have attended an Act 120 certified police academy, pass physical, psychological, background and other tests during the process. Crossing Guard (Part-time)
The Borough of Bridgeport has an immediate opening for a part-time crossing guard for the current school year and beyond. Work hours are Monday to Friday, from 8am to 9am, and 3pm to 4pm. Pay rate is $20.50 per hour. Those interested may pick up an application at the Bridgeport Police Department, 65 West 4th Street, Bridgeport, PA 19405. Borough of Bridgeport is an EOE. Crossing Guard (Substitute)
The Borough of Bridgeport is currently accepting applications for substitute crossing guards for the current school year and beyond. The position would substitute for crossing guards on an as needed basis, and there is a current immediate need. Potential work hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 9am, and 3pm to 4pm, though more limited hours should be expected as this is a fill-in role. Salary is $20.50 per hour.
