WINTER WEATHER NOTICE FOR FRIDAY, JANUARY 19, 2024

This is Situational Awareness Notice #24-05-002 for the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety. This report applies to the Jan 19 Snowfall.

Significant event details and developments:

1. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Western Montgomery County and a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Eastern Montgomery on Friday.

2. Light snow will begin to spread into the region from west to east between 4 and 7am on Friday, Jan 19th. Snow will pick up in intensity for the late morning and early afternoon hours, then gradually taper off from west to east Friday evening. Montgomery county is forecast to receive 4-6 inches of total snowfall with 3-6 inches accumulating.

3.Temperatures on Friday night after the snowfall ends will drop quickly into the mid to upper teens. Any untreated surfaces or standing water will freeze and become slick.

Please drive with caution, and remember that sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours of the end of the storm. Thank you for your time.
