Montgomery County Issues Warning for Heavy Rain Event, March 22-23, 2024

This is Situational Awareness Notice #24-08-002 for the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety. This report applies to the Heavy Rain Event - March 22 - 23.

Significant event details and developments:

1. A Flood Watch has been issued for Montgomery County and surrounding areas
2. Widespread heavy rainfall amounts of 2-3", locally 4" plus
3. Strong wind gusts 35 - 45 mph possible
4. Rain will begin tonight with the heaviest rainfall during daytime hours on Saturday
5. Widespread heavy rainfall could lead to stream and river flooding
6. Strong winds could lead to downed trees and power outages

Please exercise caution when driving and monitor local flooding conditions.
