Flood Watch in effect for Montgomery County, August 14-15

This is Situational Awareness Notice #23-014-002 for the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety. This report applies to the Potential flooding and severe weather tonight, 8/14 through Tuesday, 8/15. 

Significant event details and developments:

 

1. A Flood Watch is in effect across the county from 2000 this evening through 0600 Tuesday morning. 

 

2. Thunderstorms overnight could produce flash flooding and damaging winds. Isolated tornadoes are possible as well.

 

3. Heavy downpours could result in localized flash flooding, especially in urban and poor drainage areas. Damaging wind gusts from severe thunderstorms could knock down trees and powerlines.

 

4. There is moderate confidence on overall thunderstorm development and where and when the strongest storms producing the greatest impacts will occur.
